FRIA Welcome to the North American website of Syngenta Seeds, Inc.'s Hilleshög®brand sugar beet seed; a source of information, news, and events for sugar beet growers. Through this interactive website, we plan on staying in touch with growers and agriculturalists to keep abreast of current trends and issues facing sugar beet growers.

The Hilleshög brand sugar beet seed was first supplied to North American growers in 1978.  Hilleshög, the company named for the Swedish village in which it was founded eventually purchased the Great Western Sugar's and Amalgamated Sugar's sugar beet seed divisions in 1985 and 1990, respectively.  The combination of breeding companies created a fully adapted, broad-based germplasm pool that continues to benefit growers in North America.  Hilleshög is now the global sugar beet brand of Syngenta Seeds, Inc. and our aim remains the same - to provide sugar beet growers and the sugar industry with seed products of the highest quality and service.

Hilleshög brand sugar beet seed has always been, and continues to be, the leader in seed processing technology. Improving on that science, Syngenta's latest breakthrough in the Hilleshög brand is the development of a new and exciting technique called Fine Tuned Processing, FTP. FTP provides speed and uniformity of spring field emergence. With this latest technology, the Hilleshög brand sugar beet seed can now offer a grower the highest quality sugar/acre return.
